1. About Lyceum

Lyceum is an online education marketplace that helps students, parents, and learners connect with tutors and instructors for academic support, skill development, test preparation, career learning, and personal growth.

Lyceum provides tools for users to search for tutors, review tutor profiles, communicate with tutors, request tutoring help, schedule lessons, and manage learning-related interactions. Lyceum may support online lessons and, where available, in-person lesson arrangements.

2. Key Terms Used in These Terms

In these Terms, "Lyceum," "we," "our," and "us" refer to the Lyceum online learning platform available at lyceumonline.us and its related services.

"User," "you," and "your" refer to anyone who visits, accesses, registers for, or uses Lyceum, including students, parents, guardians, tutors, instructors, school representatives, and visitors.

"Student" means a learner who uses Lyceum to find tutoring or learning support. "Parent" or "Guardian" means a person who creates, manages, pays for, or approves tutoring services for a minor. "Tutor" or "Instructor" means a person who offers tutoring or teaching services through Lyceum.

3. Eligibility and Use by Minors

You must be able to enter into a legally binding agreement to use Lyceum independently. If you are under the age of 18, you may use Lyceum only with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors who use Lyceum, reviewing tutor selections, monitoring communications and lessons where appropriate, and ensuring that the student uses the platform safely and responsibly.

If a school, organization, or other representative uses Lyceum on behalf of students, that representative confirms that they have proper authority to do so and will comply with applicable student privacy, consent, and safeguarding obligations.

4. Accounts and Login Security

Some Lyceum features may require an account. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must notify Lyceum promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission or if you notice any security issue. Lyceum is not responsible for losses caused by your failure to protect your account credentials.

5. Students, Parents, and Tutor Roles

Students and parents are responsible for choosing the tutor they believe best fits their learning needs. Tutor profiles may include self-reported information such as experience, education, subjects taught, hourly rate, availability, teaching style, location, reviews, and other profile details.

Tutors are responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide, the quality of their tutoring services, their lesson preparation, communication, scheduling commitments, and professional conduct.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, tutors are independent service providers and are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Lyceum. Lyceum provides the platform and support tools, but tutors control their teaching methods, lesson style, subject approach, and availability.

img

6. Tutor Profiles, Verification, and Background Information

Lyceum may review tutor applications, profile information, identity details, qualifications, or other information before or after a tutor profile is published. However, Lyceum does not guarantee that every profile detail is complete, error-free, or independently verified unless specifically stated on the platform.

Students and parents should review tutor profiles carefully, ask relevant questions before booking, and make informed decisions based on their learning goals and safety expectations.

img

7. Bookings, Lessons, and Communications

Lyceum may allow users to request tutors, chat with tutors, schedule lessons, book sessions, and communicate about learning goals. Users agree to communicate respectfully and use Lyceum messaging and booking tools only for legitimate educational purposes.

Lesson timing, subject matter, learning goals, cancellations, rescheduling, and other lesson expectations should be discussed clearly between the student or parent and the tutor before the lesson begins.

Lyceum may send service-related messages, booking updates, account notifications, reminders, and support communications by email, platform notification, SMS, or other available communication channels. Message and data rates may apply for SMS notifications.

img

8. Payments, Rates, Cancellations, and Refunds

Tutor rates, lesson fees, platform fees, service charges, cancellation policies, and payment terms may be displayed on tutor profiles, checkout pages, booking screens, or other areas of the platform. You agree to review all applicable charges before confirming a booking or payment.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers. Lyceum does not require users to share payment details directly with tutors outside the platform. Users should avoid making off-platform payments. Lyceum would never authorize off-platform payments.

Tutors are responsible for setting or confirming their availability and honoring agreed lesson times. Students and parents are responsible for attending scheduled lessons and paying applicable fees. Refunds, credits, cancellations, or rescheduling requests may be reviewed according to Lyceum's posted policies, tutor-specific terms, and the facts of each situation.

9. Academic Integrity

Lyceum supports learning, understanding, and skill development. Users may not use Lyceum to cheat, commit academic dishonesty, complete graded work dishonestly, take tests or exams on behalf of another person, write assignments for submission as someone else's work, or violate any school, university, workplace, testing, or professional conduct policy.

Tutors may guide students, explain concepts, review practice work, help with study strategies, and support learning. Tutors should not complete academic work in a way that misrepresents the student's own effort or violates applicable rules.

10. User Content and Learning Materials

Users may upload, submit, send, display, or share content through Lyceum, including messages, profile information, lesson notes, documents, files, images, questions, reviews, and other materials ("User Content"). You are responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the legal right to share it.

You keep ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content through Lyceum, you grant Lyceum a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, transmit, process, and use that content as needed to operate, provide, secure, improve, and support the platform.

You may not upload or share content that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, abusive, obscene, discriminatory, infringing, invasive of privacy, malicious, or inconsistent with Lyceum's educational purpose. Lyceum may remove or restrict User Content that violates these Terms or creates risk for users or the platform.

Lyceum is not responsible for disputes, claims, injuries, damages, losses, or issues that arise from user-to-user interactions, tutor conduct, student conduct, off-platform arrangements, or third-party services, except where liability cannot be limited by applicable law.

img

19. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lyceum, its owners, officers, team members, partners, service providers, and affiliates from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of Lyceum, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, your interaction with another user, or your infringement of another person's rights.

Lyceum may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to any account or feature if we believe a user has violated these Terms, created risk for other users, provided inaccurate information, misused the platform, failed to pay applicable fees, or engaged in conduct that harms Lyceum or the learning community.

You may stop using Lyceum at any time. Certain obligations, including payment obligations, intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute-related terms, may continue after account closure or termination.

21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Before starting a formal dispute, you agree to contact Lyceum at contact@lyceumonline.us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Most concerns can be handled more quickly through direct communication.

These Terms will be governed by the laws applicable to Lyceum's registered operating entity, unless a different law is required by applicable consumer protection, education, privacy, or platform regulations.
